TLC Talk

Hi to everyone who logs on to TLC Talk.
Thought I'd start it off with the incredible day I had.

First thing this morning I had to take my cat, Piper, to the vet.  Seems she found her way into the dryer and was in there for about 10 minutes!  Needless to say, I was just about histerical.  My car could not go fast enough and the tears were flowing hard.  The vet took her in asap and put her on fluids (IV), and place her on ice, (the ice was under a towel), to cool her down.

I had to come back home to groom.  I was a little behind with my grooming because of the vet emergency I had.  Was hard to work while worrying about my Piper.  My vet called me periodically with updates throughout the day.  Piper was doing better, but not out of the woods yet. She was stable.  I went to see her at 4:30 and she seemed a lot better.  She's on antibiotics. Because of the heat of the dryer, her lungs could be affected.  Sometimes cats will develope pneumonia from an incident like this.  Plus they had to give her a medication that prevented swelling around the brain.  They told me her x-ray was encouraging.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  She has to stay over night to see what progress she makes.   I hope she improves a lot more.  By the time I went to see her this afternoon, she was up and purring.  A little lazy, of course, considering what she had been through.  It's possible the large blankets I had in the dryer saved her.  More padding.

So watch your kitties!  If they like to poke their noses in your dryer, there's a good chance they will jump in without you seeing!

Update:  Piper is doing great.  She made a full recovery!

Hi to everyone,

Just thought I'd let you know that my cat had kittens Sept. 7, 2011.  If you're looking for a real cutie, they will be ready for homes in about 6-8 weeks.  Their mom is an excellent mouser! There are 2 grey, 2 cream, and 1 calico.

Thanks   Carla
